Hello BJS family,
I'm very happy to say that I've been placed finally at Siemens Technology and Services Pvt Ltd. I came to bangalore 3 months back, hoping to get a job pretty soon, but it turned out to be a completely different scenario. Placements in off campus are way more tough than on campus. The level of competition and number of freshers and job requirements all seems to be overwhelming. Sometimes it depresses you, even when you know you are competent enough and technically and verbally sound you'll find something or the other stopping you from getting a job but it's important not to lose hope and keep trying over and over.
I was trying everyday aimlessly for any post in the IT industry. I gave the screening test for the Siemens on 20th Nov, after that to improve my Java skills and aptitude and communication I decided to join BJSBuzz. Trust me, it's a great platform to improve your overall performance in Java, aptitude and communication skills. 1st of all I'd like to thank Alok Keshri sir, for the immense support and endless motivation that you give us, the confidence that you fill us with is beyond explanation. Rishi Ranjan sir thank you for making our aptitude better which I was never good at. And last of all Rohit Ravinder sir, the more I say the less it is for you. I've been practicing Java for 3 years of my college and also Android development, but I have never known Java like this. Wish I could complete my course. I think it would really bring a change in the educational system if everybody is taught Java and other programming languages the way you teach Java.
Lastly I'd like to thank Aashu Onlyy sir and all the other BJS members for your great support and motivation. Thank you.
Now regarding the interview process :
*1st round aptitude (11th Nov) : not the traditional process each question has time limit and the test is divided into 3 sections *Quant *logical *verbal(mainly comprehension). Each question may have more than 20 to 30 options to choose from so you have to be 100% sure before selecting the answer.
*2nd round (20th Nov) : nearly 1 and half hours (for me) face to face technical interview. Questions asked on *Java (polymorphism, exception handling, inheritance and collection class basic programs and concepts, multithreading, swings and applet) ,*c++ (basic question, data structures, problem solving using data structures eg: finding corrupt nodes in a linked list, tree related programs, basic recursion programs, file handling), *DBMS (normalization and functional dependencies), basic *networking questions like ip addressing and subnet and which layer is responsible for what in OSI model. *Operating system (semaphore logic and code, what is an operating system, how does it work, preemptive and non preemptive scheduling, other types of scheduling (just names and 1 liner explanations), * Cloud computing questions (because of openstack could administration certification : difference between AWS and openstack, what are the similar cloud services provided in both of them and their names, other cloud platforms, classification of cloud architecture) *project based (Android application development : detailed explanation of your project and the data structures used in them and also the api services used including system calls)
*3rd round (managerial round) : few technical related questions as mentioned above, and hr questions like where do you see yourself in 5 years, your family background, what do you know about Siemens, what are you strength and weakness and etc for around 1 hour.
*4th round (29th Nov) : (telephonic managerial round) same as above
*5th round (6th Dec) : ( telephonic HR) : some common hr questions, about projects and certification, what is your passion, hobbies, strength weakness, family background, what do you know about Siemens, why should Siemens hire you, what are your expectations from the company etc.
I hope the interview process helps anybody in any upcoming Siemens drive.
Thank you. :)
